London’s lovers have a new anthem in Raye’s latest single ‘Distraction’, out 5th April via Polydor. A native talent and at only 18 years old, her progression through the ranks of the music industry has been nothing sort of incredible, collaborating with a who’s who of London’s scene, including but not limited to Stormzy, Labyrinth, Charli XCX and Wretch 32. This latest single is a nod to those homegrown roots, giving shout-outs to North, South and East during the R&B floor filler. The youngster’s urban voice is way beyond her years, with a rich texture to both the singing and more spoken moments. An artist that has risen up the ranks, Raye has finally found her own place with ‘Distraction’ and she fully deserves it. - SJ
